Whalesong has been operating whale watching tours in Hervey Bay for many years now so they have designed their vessel perfectly for tours. The vessel capacity is 100 people however they only take 60 people max in the tour group size. Early in the season from 5 July – 25 July when whale sightings are not guaranteed this operator also offers a cheap off peak price if you want to join in on the whale search with them. From 26 July – 31 October regular tours run for half days in either the morning or afternoon and offer guaranteed sightings. Morning Tea and Afternoon Tea are provided with options like pastries, cakes, tropical fruit platters and antipasto platters. Tasman Venture Whale Watch from Hervey Bay
The Tasman Venture vessel is a luxurious 20 metre power catamaran specifically designed for whale watching. There are clear viewing decks, underwater viewing windows, hydrophone (underwater microphone) and underwater cameras available. Tours depart daily for half days in both the morning and afternoon with morning and afternoon tea included as is accommodation pick up and drop off. The vessel capacity is up 100 people and the tour group is no larger than 80. Whale sightings are guaranteed or a free recruise. The Quick Cat II is the most awarded whale watching vessel in Australia including 10 Fraser Coast South Burnett Tourism Awards for Excellence in Hervey Bay whale watching and awarded an Advanced Eco Tourism Accreditation. Tours run for half days in either the morning or afternoon and include either a light breakfast and morning tea or a light lunch and afternoon tea. Blue Dolphin Whale Watch from Hervey Bay
Blue Dolphin’s sailing vessel is one of the smallest whale watching vessels in Hervey Bay. They are the 2011 and 2012 Winner of the Best Tourism Whale Encounter Operator award. The skipper Peter has over 27 years of experience with marine mammals with 14 of those spent as a marine mammal trainer at SeaWorld. Full day tours are offered throughout the entire season starting at 7:30am and finishing at 3:30pm. Morning Tea, Buffet Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Complimentary Alcoholic Beverage and pick up from your accommodation is all included in the ticket price. Spirit of Hervey Bay Whale Watch from Hervey Bay
The Spirit of Hervey Bay vessel has the largest viewing area of any other boats for whale watching in Hervey Bay. There are 5 viewing decks over 4 levels and their underwater viewing rooms are boasted to be the largest of any Hervey Bay vessel. The vessel capacity is up to 230 people but the tour group size will never exceed more than 100 people. The Spirit of Hervey Bay runs a ¾ Day Tour from the 26th of July to 19th of September in the early part of the season including morning tea and a cold buffet lunch. Then 2 Half Day Tours are offered from 20th September until the 6th of October (including morning or afternoon tea) before returning to a ¾ Day from the 7th of October until the 27th of October.
